Spend a half day discovering three of the most prominent temples in Bangkok. You'll visit Wat Triamit, Wat Pho, and Wat Benchamabophit with your guide. This tour caters to those interested in Thailand's architecture, Buddhist culture, and history.
Wat Pho- "the gold reclining Buddha", and is 43 metres long and one of the largest in the world. The temple complex is expansive and takes at least an hour to explore properly. The various structures hold artefacts and give the faithful opportunities to express their devotion. It takes a whole building to hold it, resting in a peaceful pose. The feet of the Buddha have a whole lot of images on the soles inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
Wat Triamit - "The Temple of the Golden Buddha" enshrines the massive solid gold Buddha image named Phra Phuttha Maha Suwan Patimakon displaying the subduing Mara mudra. The temple located in the Chinatown area of Bangkok is a Royal temple famous for the enormous gold Buddha image it houses.
Wat Benchamabophit - "The Temple of marble and significant importance". The temple is a fine example of Bangkok’s architectural style with its multi-tiered roofs, elegant bird-like decorations (chofahs) at the top of the temple roofs and the stunning gold carvings. There is a large stone lion on either side of the entrance, guarding the temple.You will also get to see 52 Buddha images from different periods and a Bodhi tree brought over from Bodhgaya in India, where Buddha reached enlightenment.
